In-Person & Online Classes with a Certified Instructor

Crochet Lessons: In-Person or Online

Whether you’re picking up a hook for the very first time or brushing up on skills you learned years ago, you can learn at your own pace with personalized crochet instruction. I teach both beginners and returning crocheters, and every lesson is designed to help you feel confident, relaxed, and excited about your progress.

Lessons are offered in person at select Hamilton County public libraries in Cincinnati, Ohio, or virtually through Zoom or Google Meet. Ages 8+ welcome.

What to Expect in Your Crochet Lesson

I teach with a friendly, supportive approach and a high success rate. Each one-hour session is hands-on, approachable, and focused on helping you build real skills you can use right away.

Perfect for Beginners

If you’re brand new, I typically recommend 2–3 lessons to give you a strong, smooth start. You’ll learn everything from holding your yarn comfortably to working your first stitches with confidence.

Ideal for Returning Crocheters

If you crocheted years ago and need a refresher, we’ll revisit the basics, rebuild your muscle memory, and fill in any gaps so you can move into patterns you’re excited about.

About Your Instructor

I’m Nicki Byrnes, a Certified Crochet Instructor trained through the Craft Yarn Council (CYC), and a pattern designer with work featured in Crochet World, Simply Crochet, I Like Crochet, and AllFreeCrochet.

I’ve taught in local yarn shops, community spaces, and private sessions for years—and my priority is always the same: help you make progress, enjoy the process, and build skills that truly stick. Students often tell me how surprised they are at how quickly things “click.”
